Yahoo….A Critter Contest!!

Photographers love taking photos of the three P’s.  You know the three P’s:  People, Places, and you guessed it, Pets! Now I’m lumping all animals in this category - tame or otherwise.  I guarantee if you’re a photographer and you have a pet or a love for animals then chances are in the midst of all your “award winning” photos is your favorite picture of some fur-bearing (or not) critter that warms your heart. I’m partial to turtles and dogs myself.

So here’s the contest…drum roll please.  Facebook Fans (Yes, you must be a fan in order to win) will be able to upload photos of their favorite pets on my Facebook site located HERE.

The steps are simple.

1. Become a fan of Batdorff Photography on Facebook.  Click on this link HERE.
2. Go to the Wall tab.  Type in your name in the box that reads “Write something” and directly under that box click on attach photo and upload your favorite pet photo.
3. If you don’t want to upload a photo and would rather give us your link, that’s cool too.

The rules are simpler

1. Don’t post photos you did not take because it’s just not cool, and potentially illegal!
2. Now this is a pet photo contest, so let’s keep it to domestic animals (no wildlife photography for this one) such as dogs, cats, horses, hamsters and those miniature raccoon things (called ferrets)….you get the idea.
3. Photos of your friend’s pets qualify too, as long as you took the photo.
4. Multiple entries are allowed.
5. International entries are welcomed!  Yeah, my Mexico fans!
6. Entries must be uploaded by July 3rd.
7. The winning entries will be announced on July 6th!

The Prizes are the coolest:

• Best Overall Picture  (75.00)
• Most Creative Pet Photo (50.00)
• The Cutest Little Critter   (25.00)
• Payment will be in the form of a gift card to either Petsmart, Petco or a donation in your name to your local Humane Society

And Here’s the Best Part!

You’ll be able to keep your pet..:)  In addition to the prize, you’ll get some props when I post your award winning photo on my blog site HERE.  Now, if you don’t have a pet, find one!    Remember, you can take photos of your friends pets too.

The contest winner will be announced on July 6^th! So upload your entry by Friday, July 3^rd. Don’t have a favorite pet photo? Get busy… you have a week.

And, for all you professionals out there thumbing your nose at us right now, lighten up!  This is about having fun and playing with our cameras.  Nobody is looking to outshoot Moose Peterson today.  We’re all just having a little fun!
