New Orleans is rich with culture!

I’ve been to New Orleans several times before in my life, but never with the luxury of time.  Typically I found myself here  for busy conventions with very little time to dedicate to my photography.     However, this time I’m afforded with the luxury of time, a patient travel partner and my gear.  It’s been eight years since I was  here last and I’m pleased to see that the French Quarter is relatively unscathed by hurricane Katrina.   The area is rich in culture and the local “performers” have been entertaining to say the least.  Yesterday, was a very slow day for me in terms of shooting.  I knew I was going to have a few days here so I took my camera out and warmed up a bit but typically it takes until day two to truly get into the groove.  Any time I’m going to be in a city for a few days I always think it’s a good idea to scout the area out and plan for tomorrow’s return.   This is going to be  a short blog because the magical hour is fast approaching and I noticed last night that the quality of light was amazing.    I will probably be posting a tad late for the next few days but make sure to check in.   Until tomorrow…John
