Worldwide Photowalk-Destination Yellowstone

Scott Kelby Photowalk

Mark your calendars: It’s time to sign up for Scott Kelby’s 3rd Annual Photowalk this July 24th. This is an excellent opportunity for you to spend a few hours with fellow photographers exploring one of the hundreds of walks around the world. To find a walk near you, check out the Annual Photowalk’s official site HERE.

Now if you’re interested in joining yours truly—I’ll be leading the walk at Old Faithful in Yellowstone National Park (check out the webcam HERE). We will begin by meeting in the lobby of Old Faithful Inn. After a brief meet and greet, we begin our journey on one of the many nearby hiking trails. Plan on walking anywhere from 1.5 to 2 miles on designated trails. Depending upon Old Faithful’s last eruption, we’ll either watch the geyser at the beginning or the end of the hike. A couple of things to remember: Please bring sunscreen, bug spray, water and prepare for various weather conditions (at this altitude, weather conditions can change quickly). We’ll finish by grabbing lunch and maybe some ice cream at Old Faithful Inn. I have been coming to this area for over ten years, and it is one of my favorite places on earth, so I look forward to sharing it with you as your walking photographic tour guide. I am as passionate about the outdoors as I am about photography, and especially this particular area of the world, so this should be fun for those of you who feel the same.

There are only 50 spaces available, and the best part is: it’s free. That’s right, there are no fees to participate, but pre-registration is required, so make sure to sign up HERE. Keep in mind, registration is open to everyone—all you need is a camera and a great attitude. It doesn’t even matter what kind of camera (disposable, SLR, point-and-shoot …all are welcomed) and no matter what skill level, you’re bound to have a nice time. Old Faithful is the hallmark of Yellowstone and a must see for anyone visiting the area; and don’t forget about the Old Faithful Lodge with it’s incredible lodgepole pine interior. That alone is a special and amazing architectural site to be seen. For those of you looking to sign up for my walk, just remember we’ll be meeting in the lobby of the Old Faithful Inn at 11.am. taking it from there.

I’m really looking forward to the walk, so if you have any questions whatsoever please drop me a note. While I would love to have you all come on my walk, I understand that not everyone can make it out there. So if you can’t make it to Yellowstone, sign up for a walk in your area. Anywhere you go, you’ll have a great time socializing and learning from other photographers. Altogether I think the Photowalk will be a great experience, so make sure you’re a part of it!
