Consider yourself upgraded…;)

John Batdorff Photography Blog

It’s been a busy week on the upgrade front:

Same blog.. new look.
Yours truly has spent the last week or so putting some finishing touches on my new blog site.  Now I know change can be difficult, but I really wanted to create a site that showcases my photography, that is easier to read, and easier to navigate.   Over the course of the next few weeks I’ll be tweaking a few things and uploading more photos to my galleries.   The galleries are an excellent way to peruse some of my favorite work and if something strikes your fancy it has a very cool shopping cart feature ;)   Once everything is dialed in, I’ll plan on blogging about the process because I know many of you are always looking to enhance your own blogs.   As always, I welcome any feedback.

Lightroom:
Adobe has officially released Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.0.  I was pleasantly surprised that they kept the upgrade cost to $99.00.  I upgraded yesterday with zero issues.  If you’re on the fence about upgrading I strongly recommend downloading the trial version HERE and giving it a whirl.  If you want a breakdown of the enhancements from 2.0 to 3.0 then I recommend reading this HERE.   If you’re familiar with Lightroom and want to get up to speed on just the improvements in the product then I  recommend watching Matt Kloskowski’s “Lightroom 3 Power Session” on Scott Kelby’s training site HERE.   If you don’t already subscribe to Scott’s online training courses I urge you to give it a try HERE.  The amount of information Scott has provided online is an incredible resource for photographers.

Scott Kelby’s 3rd Annual Photowalk:
I still have spots available for the Photowalk.  If you’re interested in signing up for this free photo tour of Old Faithful then click HERE.

Workshops:
I still have a few openings for my workshop in Yellowstone on  August 23-24.  For more information on the workshop click HERE

I just updated to CS5 and LR 3 today! A combined total of about $400. With the handy new features in both programs, I felt the upgrade worth it.
