Juxtaposition in Street Photography

‘L’ Stop void of life

Street photography can be a very intimate process and when it comes to conveying a mood, feeling the absence of life can be every bit as powerful as it’s presence. Public transportation hubs are great venues to convey this juxtaposition in feelings. We’re so accustomed to seeing people at a bus terminal, airport, or train station that the mere absence of people creates an eerie sensation of aloneness.

Yet, when a train station is flooded with bustling bodies returning to home we feel comforted by the familiar and expected.

  1. Love the idea, and specially the mood! Love the empty one since it creates a mystery mood, of something brewing despite looking deserted.
