Join me in my home town for a day of capturing the amazing sights the Windy City has to offer. We will start our day at my studio in Andersonville, grab some coffee and breakfast and get to know one another while going over our day’s itinerary. I will review all participant’s work ahead of time, so we can further discuss goals and what you want to work on. Then we’ll head south into Lincoln Park where we’ll get a gorgeous shot of the iconic skyline and discuss techniques of landscape photography.
As we go, we can take portraits of faces that strike us and talk about tips to getting a great street portrait. We will make our way downtown, grabbing up lots of images as we go, and end our day at the famous Millenium Park. I know everyone probably has a photo of the “Bean,” but we’ll discuss some new techniques for getting a unique image in downtown Chicago. We can cover Black and White photography, HDR, Macro, and any other techniques or questions participants have.
We will grab lunch along the way, and finish up back at the studio where we’ll get to processing. We will order in dinner, and have a chance to view each other’s work, and everyone will get an individual 15 minute portfolio review. The day will begin at 8:30, and finish up around 6:00pm, so you’ll definitely get a full day’s worth of fun and photography. Breakfast and dinner are included.
This workshop will be laid back while I try to teach everyone something new. I’ll have an assistant with me to help answer all questions and manage the transportation and route. All levels of photographers are welcome, as are native Chicagoans and visitors alike. I like to keep this workshop fun and flexible because when you’re in Chicago, you never know what you’ll see.
