I know we’re seeing record temperatures. And I know some of you might resort to extreme measures to keep cool. But, please use some sunscreen!
Background story behind the image:
I was perusing old postcards in an antique store in Brussels. Old postcards are simply the best, and for me it’s all about great street photography to capture some of life’s most interesting moments. Some of these moments are sad, some are serious, but my favorites are the ridiculous scenarios caught on camera. I remember looking at an old postcard with four men wearing wooden barrels walking down a country road… I paused and thought to myself — this stuff just doesn’t happen anymore, and that street photography has become sterile, civilized or worse yet, predictable (in comparison).
However, just 30 minutes later as I was walking down the street, the “muscles from Brussels” proved me wrong. I guess that’s why street photography is by far my favorite style of photography. Things are so unpredictable, thus exciting!
Mr. Gump said it best: life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.
P.S. The chocolate in Brussels is over the top too 😉
