It’s been nearly a year since I opened up my photography studio and learning center here in Chicago. It’s been a pleasure to be able to teach my photography classes in such an inviting space and I think the students are probably relieved not to have Jack Russells tormenting them as they did when we worked in my house. 🙂
Now I have another announcement. I am pleased to tell you all that Staci Prince, my long-time partner, is now my full-time studio manager. (Girlfriend seems like a such a high school term… But, then again partner always confuses people as to whether I mean business or personal, and squeeze seems to be too sexist. I’m open to suggestions, and thanks for having this discussion with me. Moving on….)
Many of you who have attended my photography workshops in Chicago have already met Staci, but for those of you who haven’t, let me do a brief introduction. Staci has been with me on countless journeys and photographic adventures. Around the house, she’s affectionately known as the Warden, and so it’s only appropriate that she’s now the “Office Warden” because no detail goes unchecked by her. So, join me in “officially” welcoming Staci to the Batdorff Photography family. Whenever you have a question about your photography workshop, whether that be in Chicago, Brussels, or Death Valley, (many more to come) then rest assured Staci’s got your answer.
Hi Everyone. It’s nice to meet you. I have to say I am super excited to be working with John full-time. I’m going to miss my work as a registered nurse, but John’s dedication and energy are contagious, and I think we make a pretty good team. We definitely have a lot of fun together. And he’s right, I’m super serious about details. What I’m not super serious about is having to be his subject for portraits. 😉 While he is still on his email more than I am, I run a pretty close second. As one of our clients said, he got my reply before he even hit send. I will also be coming along on many of the workshops, so for those of you who are already signed up, I’ll see you then. You should also stop in and see me at the studio in Chicago. I’ll be holding regular hours, I can tell you embarrassing stories about John (there is an endless supply) and I put out a candy dish (priorities!), so stop in and check out the Gallery and Learning Center!
